Ground Breaking on New Hearing Clinic
Dr. Shannon Parker broke ground Monday on her new hearing clinic - Compass Hearing Center - at 111 N. Avenue B. The new business in planning to open January 2017.
Dr. Parker graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders, magna cum laude from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2002. She also completed her Doctor of audiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2006.
She is board certified by the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association and is also a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Parker was employed at University Medical Center in Lubbock for six years and supervised the UMC Hearing & BAlance Center for five.
At UMC she conducted hearing tests, balance tests, tinnitus evaluations and hearing aid fittings for all ages - newborn to geriatric.
At Compass Hearing Center, Dr. Parker will complete hearing tests, tinnitus evaluations and hearing aid fittings for all ages. Custom hearing protection and molds for swimming will also be available.
Additional services to be offered are industrial/occupational hearing screenings, educational collaborations for the classroom setting and newborn hearing screenings.
