covid-19 policy

Originally published on March 18, 2020: We continue to monitor the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation closely. Compass Hearing Center will follow the recommendations for all private practices from the CDC website and the American Academy of Audiology, along with local and state recommendations. We want to assure you of our ongoing efforts to protect the safety of our patients, our staff, and the community of Denver City, Texas. Both Dr. Shannon Parker and her Receptionist, Abby, have young children that are on extended Spring Break in order to quarantine. Due to these reasons, appointments will be limited and possibly rescheduled, but we have measures in place to meet your audiology needs.

Patient Screening

Please do not come to our clinic without contacting a member of our staff in advance. We are in the process of contacting all scheduled appointments and screening all appointment requests for the following:

  • Reschedule any patient who has had fever, cough, shortness of breath, or illness in the last 48 hours OR who has been in contact with someone diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19). This will reduce the risk of transmitting any illness to our patients and families.

  • Reschedule any non-emergency appointment to a later date. We will be able to mail supplies to your residence if needed.

Minimal Contact & Disinfecting

We are increasing our sanitation and disinfecting efforts in addition to the diligent cleaning that we practice daily. We are practicing minimal contact and postponing all non-essential appointments as recommended by the CDC. We will not be shaking hands or touching faces but will be washing our hands frequently and using hand sanitizer. We encourage all the members of our community to practice the same guidelines to help reduce to spread of this virus.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We know that hearing and communication are essential in a time of emergency so please know that we are available for your hearing needs via phone or email. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
